IV ozone dose for a horse« Back to Questions List

I saw a horse who had been trimmed too close. Hooves are quite sore. I worry about infection because of dirty conditions at the municipal corrals. Also he's not moving much so he's standing in manure. In the past I would have injected 25cc of LA-200 (oxytetracycline) IV but it's on back-order. I have the Hummingbird ozone generator. Any suggestions how to use it to treat the horse?

Judith Shoemaker, DVM, practices in Pennsylvania, I believe. I can’t find it right now but she wrote that she uses six 60cc syringes filled with ozone, given IV. I don’t remember what gamma she uses.

Thanks for the reply. I worry she’s too sore to be transported to my clinic. And I don’t want to carry my machine, O2 tank, etc out there. I thought about IV following Shoemaker’s protocol.
