Ozone therapy is powerful.

Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI) is also powerful.

When we combine these two treatments, we get O3UV. Let’s face it—When people first hear about O3UV to treat animals, they have a slew of questions. From basic questions to the ones nobody asks but should, they will be answered here.

WHAT IS O3UV?

UV refers to ultraviolet light.
O3UV is the combination of ozone therapy, Major Autohemotherapy (MAHT) and Ultraviolet Blood Irradiation (UBI).

WHY IS O3UV USED?

In a  nutshell, O3UV boosts the immune system, kills germs, increases cellular oxygen, decreases pain and cuts inflammation.
The IVC Journal contains a great article covering O3UV's abilities. Click here to read it. https://ivcjournal.com/ozone-biophotonic-therapy/

WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF ILLNESSES O3UV TREATS?

A better question might be, "What are some examples of illnesses O3UV doesn't treat?" O3UV has been proven to effectively treat Lyme Disease, allergies, viral and bacterial infections, auto-immune conditions, kidney disease, liver issues, respiratory conditions and circulatory illnesses. It is also a great complement to all types of cancer treatment.

Dr. Kathy Backus sums it up very well in her article "Unleashing the Power of Ozone and Ultraviolet." Check out her take on using O3UV in veterinary medicine. https://ivcjournal.com/ozone-biophotonic-therapy/

WHAT PART DOES LIGHT PLAY IN O3UV TREATMENTS?

UV light is a germicidal (disinfectant) that also has anti-inflammatory and immune system boosting effects. It increases oxygen in the blood and helps blood more easily transport that oxygen to the body's organs.
When blood is exposed to light, any bacteria and/or viruses in the bloodstream will absorb five times more photonic energy than red and white blood cells do. In turn, the body's immune system is revved up, and the immune system starts killing off infections.
This is true in both humans and animals.
The Riordan Clinic is just one clinic that uses O3UV in humans every day. The following is what the Riordan Clinic has to say about O3UV:

IS A UVC LIGHT BULB THE ONLY ONE NEEDED IN O3UV TREATMENT?

There are three types of UV lamps used in O3Vets' UV machines--UVA, UVB and UVC.

♦ UVA light  is also known as black light and is a broad band of light. UVA light is found in the sun. It is easily absorbed into the blood and balances the immune system.

♦ UVB light is also found in the sun. UVB lamps have a high absorption rate and a boosting effect on the immune system.

♦ UVC lamps contain a lot of germicidal power--enough to kill bacteria and viruses.

Three different lamps are used because together they kill off bacteria and viruses AND regulate and boost the immune system. With UVC's germicidal power, UVA's regulating abilities and UVB's absorption abilities, the combination boosts a weakened immune system and suppresses an overactive immune system.

WHAT TYPE OF EQUIPMENT IS NEEDED FOR O3UV?

If you already have the equipment and supplies needed to produce ozone, you will need:
  • A Chimp UV Machine
  • Quartz Cuvettes
  • Infusion Pump
  • Blood Bags

WHAT IS THE PROCESS FOR AN ANIMAL TO BE TREATED?

O3UV consists of a combination of  three different treatments methods: MAHT, UBI and Ozone.
  • First, MAHT will be performed, which involves withdrawing a small amount of blood from the animal, mixing blood with saline and then infusing ozone gas into the blood/saline mixture.
  • Next, the blood/saline/ozone mixture is channeled past UV light using an ultraviolet machine.
  • After the above has been completed, the mixture is inserted back into the animal's vein.

WHAT DOSE WOULD BE GIVEN TO MY PET?

Dosing of UV light is measured in joules (energy) transferred to the blood. O3Vets recommends approximately 1,000 joules.
Blood is drawn from an animal based on weight--2 ml for every 10 pounds.
The drawn blood should be mixed using a 2:1 ratio of saline and blood (2 parts saline to 1 part blood).

HOW OFTEN WILL MY PET NEED TREATMENT?

Depending on the diagnosis and prognosis of a pet's illness, the ideal treatment regime is three times a week for a total of five to ten treatments. However, treatment frequency and duration should be based on your veterinarian's recommendation.
